Following the announcement from the NSW Government yesterday (23 June) of further restrictions for Greater Sydney, we are confirming that The Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon presented by Bupa Dental can no longer take place this Sunday 27 June.
Following our announcement that The Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon presented by Bupa Dental will not be taking place as planned on Sunday 16 May 2021, our team have worked tirelessly to secure a new date. We are delighted to share the good news that the event will now take place on Sunday 27 June 2021.
To reduce the amount of single use cups used during race weekend, we encourage participants to bring your own water bottle. You can top up in the start area, on course at our drink stations and in the finish area. Participants can still grab, rehydrate and drop our compostable cups along the course and at the finish.
Here in Sydney, we know we’re pretty spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful running routes. Case in point - the SMH Half Marathon course takes in some of Sydney’s best views along the spectacular 21.1km course, including; the Sydney Opera House, Botanic Gardens, Harbour Bridge, The Rocks, Pyrmont Peninsula and Hyde Park.
