Important Event Update

Hi Everyone, over recent months we have remained confident we would be able to deliver an exceptional and safe event on 15 November 2020, for those who would be able to attend.

However, the current New South Wales Public Health Order limits outdoor gatherings to 500, and the event cannot proceed under these restrictions. The Public Health order was recently reviewed and extended again on 28 September, and with still no certainty on when these restrictions will end, sadly this means that The Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon presented by Bupa Dental cannot take place as planned on 15 November 2020.

We know you will be disappointed by this news. Our team share in the disappointment, as we’ve put a huge amount of work into trying to make it happen and we were really looking forward to seeing you back doing what you love, but unfortunately on this occasion it is outside of our control.

All currently registered athletes have been sent an email from us today with details on their options, but if you haven't received this email, please contact us at halfmarathon@ironman.com.

While we are prevented from holding the event in 2020, we are already looking forward to coming back stronger in 2021, with the 2021 event planned to take place on 16 May 2021.

Our team would like to thank you for your patience and support of the event and look forward to seeing you on the start line next year.
